Why this site of all things?
Alongside my job, booking holidays almost always feels stressful. Between countless social media bookmarks, newsletters and open tabs I keep losing track – and in the end the planning simply doesn't happen.
The tipping point was a complete disaster in Mallorca in April 2026. Honest reviews are hard to find these days; instead you get flooded by Booking.com and the like. I deliberately booked directly with the hotel – and on arrival it turned out the reviews simply weren't real.
I know it's a tough fight against the big players. But there are so many wonderful places to stay in Switzerland that deserve to be a real insider tip: with honest words from their owners and a lot of heart.
And then there's the price issue: anyone travelling with school-age children pays inflated prices exactly during the holiday weeks. As a single mum the budget is tight – planning becomes a necessity, not a hobby.
So today I used my first day of holiday to turn the idea into something real.
